The mission of The Urban Bloom Project, Inc. is to educate, promote awareness, and provide direct service across the lifespan in four critical areas: Education, Workforce/Economic Development, Housing, and Health. We are committed to empowering children, families, and communities using collaborative national networks that make local & personal impact.

To increase awareness around the importance of early childhood education, special education, and parent education.

To support youth and young adults transitioning from foster care to independent living with wraparound services, including academic coaching and life skills development.

To provide a national network of resources for college-bound students, academic tutoring, and career readiness and workforce development support for those not attending college.

To promote adult health awareness and emotional well-being, especially during times of crisis.

Growth at Urban Bloom does not happen by accident. It is cultivated — through reflection, strategy, lived experience, and courageous conversation. Our Advisory Board has played a critical role in grounding our vision, strengthening our program models, and ensuring that our work remains responsive, relevant, and rooted in equity.
Our Projects & Services
Guided by the vision, these initiatives reflect our broader goals of fostering learning at every stage of life, supporting transitions into independence, creating networks of opportunity for college and career readiness, increasing awareness, and promoting health and well-being during times of challenge. Academic Coaching & Tutoring: Personalized support for students in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area to build confidence, strengthen core skills, and prepare for the academic and career pathways ahead.

Community Programs:

Harlem Youth Publishing & Empowerment (HYPE) introduces and trains NYC high school students for future careers in publishing and to become critical consumers of the media they engage with. HYPE provides students exposure and training in technical writing, content creation, web editing, freelance, cybersecurity, storytelling and critical thinking.
